What type of website are you looking for?

As humans we always want something that someone else has, whether it be a brand new handbag or a super red shiny sports car, so why is it that when ask people what type of website they would like the answer is usually “I don’t know”.

I always tell my customers to look around, look at other websites, get ideas. Sometimes the best ideas come from looking at others websites, getting a feel for what you like. Some people like big flash websites with crazy colours and lots of photos, whereas some prefer the simple informative websites, that allows customers to get information start away.

Forbes Media 2018 writes “The more extensive your site is, the better impression you’ll make — and reaching more people means more connections, opportunities, and so forth”.

I also remind people that you only have a few seconds to make a great impression or else they will “click off” and onto the next website that does make a great initial impression.  This is why every website has a landing Page and doesn’t just go straight into “the full sell” which can be overwhelming for some people.

So why do we need a website?

Companies spend hundreds creating brochures and distributing them around locally, using up their time and money. By having a website you can skip that all together. Your potential customers can find out about you and any of your products online. If you get most of your business through networking and personal connections, then they will want to check out your website.

The sad Truth

If your customers (or suppliers) can’t find you online, they will find your competitors. With more and more companies making a web presence, your company will be more likely to lose business to your competitor because you fail to represent yourself (properly) on the internet
